Advanced Education Institute is dedicated to the fidelity of training based on Francine Shapiro, Ph.D.'s development of EMDR. Francine Shapiro, Ph.D. developed EMDR based on clinical observation, controlled research, feedback from clinicians whom she had trained and previous scholarly and scientific studies of information processing. Northern California Training's Basic EMDR Training is based on the work of Shapiro as it is described in her writings (Shapiro, 2001).
About DaLene Forester, Ph.D.
DaLene Forester, PhD, has been a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Redding, California since 1993 and a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor since 2013. She obtained her Masters in Psychology from Chico State University and her PhD in Psychology from California Southern University. DaLene maintains a full time private practice with an emphasis in the treatment of Eating Disorders, Anxiety Disorders, and a special passion for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. She has worked as the Clinical Director of a non-profit counseling center and founded the Advanced Education Institute where she provides clinical trainings to Mental Health professionals in EMDR, TF-CBT, Motivational Interviewing, Clinical Supervision, Clinical Treatment of Eating Disorders and much more.
DaLene is a CAMFT Approved Supervisor and an active member of the Redding Regional Chapter of CAMFT having received the “Outstanding Chapter Leader” award twice. She has served on the Chapter Board of Directors numerous times.
EMDR International Association EMDR Certified Therapist, Approved Consultant and Trainer. She is an active member of the EMDR International Association having served on the Standards and Training committee, is an active Regional Coordinator, currently serves on the EMDRIA Board of Directors, and is a member of the National Organization of EMDR Trainers (NOET).
DaLene is currently an Adjunct Professor at National University.
A Board Certified Expert in Traumatic Stress, Diplomate with the American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress.
Clinical member of the American Psychological Association (APA), American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (AAMFT), California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing International Association (EMDRIA), National Eating Disorders Association (NEDA), Academy for Eating Disorders (AED). DaLene is actively involved with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences as a previous Oral Examiner and a current Continuing Education Provider.
Dr Forester, has presented papers at AAMFT, Western Psychological Association (WPA) and has two chapters published in EMDR Solutions II, R Shaprio (ed.), W.W. Norton & Company, 2009.
